Photoshop® and Graphics Classes in South Florida!

Photoshop® is truly the 800 pound gorilla of the graphics world, with a very deep and broad interface. We start at the beginning, even if you have no Photoshop experience, and walk you through the basics. Many of these elementary photo imaging principles apply both to Photoshop and Photoshop Elements, an excellent program for the hobbyist. The beginnings topics I cover include The Work Area, Tools, Navigating, Using the Bridge (File Browser), Making Selections, (Tools & Methods), Layer Basics, Layer Styles (FX), Resolution, Resizing, File Size, Image Adjustments & Basic Photo Corrections.

After the basics, I can continue on with topics such as Retouching & Repairing Photos, Masks, Channels, Painting, Editing, Paths, Pen Tools, Shapes, Type, Advanced Layer Techniques, Filters, Special Effects, Optimizing, Saving for Web, Printing & Collages.

One of the cornerstones of my classes is my belief that they must be tailored to the needs and goals of the students. Many adults come to these classes with tremendous variation in their experience and skills; it is my primary job to first ascertain what my students need and how best to proceed to attain their goals.

I strive to promote a low pressure and welcoming atmosphere, geared to the needs and goals of adult students. I use discussions, demonstrations, videos, hand outs, and other materials to demystify Photoshop and help students to discover its endless creative possibilities for personal expression.

I also teach Photoshop Elements, an excellent, inexpensive, user friendly program geared to the hobbyist working with digital photos. This program can be bought online or locally at retailers such as Costco, for about $60 - 80.

For classes in the Adult Ed program of Palm Beach School District, the following book is suggested but not required:
